Rudy Muts
My name is Rudy Muts, born in Holland some 64 years ago, being the son of a motorsport man and being stuck with the motor speedway ,,virus'' there had to be a career in it !
After completing my motor mechanic aprenticeship I moved to England to have a career in the toughest competition in the World at the time and became a ,,Pro'' !
It lasted for four years and a broken neck in between, long story, but best thing to earn a living ,,if '' you can make it pay. In my case I couldn't make it pay without sponsors ,so had to call it a day.
Thereafter I moved to Australia and have three great kids, who make me proud.
When you are young and have a young family you like to take pictures and video, I quess.
And when you are a motorsport man you love seeing ,,Great'' pictures of speed. This is where it alI it all started for me some 35 years ago I assume.
I like photographing wildlife, but this is not easy as I have found out over the last ten years. I was always under the impression that the bigger the lens and faster the camera then you get the ,,Great'' pictures.
But over the years I have learned that knowing your camera inside and out is one of the keys to success, because when a ,,once in a moment" happens and something special is about to happen, than that is the moment you have to know the camera and it's buttons
Photography is a never ending hobby as you have to know your subjects you like to capture, know where and when to hide and camouflage.
A good friend told me ones, big lenses ar very expensive, so you just have to get closer to the subjects instead of big expensive lenses. In a way that is true, but unfortunathly if you are serious about bird photography you do need fast camera's and big lenses that are quite expensive.
It has taken me probebly 15 years to be where I am today and I am still amazed of how every situation can be so different, especialy when the ,,One'' bird moves around all the time... in the shade, in the water or in the sunshine as an example.
Anyway as I said you never stop learning your equipment and your wildlife around you.
I also make my own handcrafted photoframes in wood. If you want photoframes that no one else would have, keep checking this website for news - it will be coming.
Take a look at my photos here, Greetings for now and I hope you enjoy!
